Job Summary

The Area Manager will serve as the operational leader and business partner for a group of FS Cut & Color salons. This person will work closely with salon managers and ownership to create consistency, strengthen leadership, increase guest satisfaction, grow service and retail sales, and support a positive, high-performing salon culture. This role is ideal for someone who understands salon operations, enjoys coaching people, and can balance business results with team development.     


 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple FS Cut & Color salon locations.

• Coach, support, and hold salon managers accountable for goals, standards, and follow-through.

• Drive service sales, retail sales, guest count growth, and overall salon performance.

• Review key performance indicators, identify opportunities, and create action plans with each salon manager.

• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, retention, and leadership development efforts.

• Ensure each salon delivers a consistent, professional, and welcoming guest experience.

• Promote strong retail merchandising, product knowledge, inventory control, and backbar management.

• Visit salons regularly to observe operations, review cleanliness, support teams, and follow up on priorities.

• Help salon managers set individual stylist goals and maintain accountability around productivity, rebooking, retail, and guest retention.

• Partner with ownership to solve operational challenges and improve profitability.
 

Qualifications
 

• Previous salon management, multi-unit leadership, or beauty industry operations experience preferred.

• Strong coaching, communication, and follow-up skills.

• Ability to read sales reports, identify trends, and turn opportunities into clear action plans.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced salon environment with multiple priorities.

• Passion for guest service, team development, retail growth, and operational excellence.

• Ability to travel between assigned salon locations as needed.

• Cosmetology license or salon leadership background is a plus, depending on state requirements and business needs.
